UNIVERSITY SCHOOL February 6, 2012 Dear Coach, I hope the holiday season was relaxing for you and that 2012 has started out well. IÕm writing today to thank you for your teamÕs participation in the 2011 George Clements Invitational, and to invite you back this summer. University School is pleased to announce that the 2012 George Clements Invitational will occur on Saturday, August 25. We will again adhere to the format of having just one race for the girls and one race for the boys, and allowing teams to run all of their athletes together. This setup seems to make the most sense, given that roster spots will probably not be determined at such an early point in the season. It also helps us avoid any parking and staffing issues. The time schedule would be the same, with the girlsÕ race starting at 8:30, and the boys racing at 9:15. To keep the size of the field manageable yet allow the meet to be competitive, we would like to have twelve teams in each race. We are first inviting schools who competed this past year, and will then open up the final spots after spring break. Our course is both picturesque and challenging, with the first 2000m taking place on the upper and lower athletic fields. The next 2300m wind through the wooded section of our campus and feature both uphill and downhill sections. The final 800m finish on the athletic fields, close to the start. We hope you will consider joining us.
